Associate Producer/Writer, CBS News Radio; Washington, D.C. — Sept. 2019-Present

  • Served as both the White House In-and-Out of Town Radio Pool Reporter. Relayed the President’s location around the country to radio networks, recorded the President’s remarks at press gaggles.
  • Wrote multiple online articles posted on CBS News’ website.
  • Edited full-length episodes of The Takeout with Major Garret and Intelligence Matters podcasts.
  • Created promos for CBS podcasts and special programs that were aired on affiliates nationwide and ad integrations for CBS News Radio with news clips.

Intern, CNN Investigates; New York, N.Y. — June-August 2019

  • Assisted in building a data journalism site created to pair with original reporting involving lawsuits.
  • Wrote research memos on political, public and private figures, companies and other subjects of investigations.
  • Researched and read primary sources like company documents, flight logs, and court records used in CNN reporting.
  • Logged interviews in real time as they were ingested by CNN and logged archival footage.

Intern, CBS News Radio; Washington, D.C. — June-August 2018, January 2019-May 2019

  • Reported original content and investigated primary sources in support of ongoing reporting.
  • Booked 20+ interviews for Weekend Roundup and The Takeout with Major Garrett podcasts. 
  • Edited Intelligence Matters and CBS radio promo sound files distributed to CBS Radio affiliates and listeners.
  • Facilitated on-site recording of The Takeout with Major Garrett, setting up equipment, writing radio advisories and creating SOTs used in production.

  • Created map of police body camera policies nationwide by city and state.
  • Researched policies and laws on public access to police body camera footage and other assorted tasks as directed by RCFP staff.
